Here you will find all the frequently asked questions regarding your Japanese head spa experience. 

Can I have the treatment if I have extensions or braids?

To ensure full access to the scalp, we are unable to perform treatments on clients with extensions (of any kind), braids, locks, or sew-ins, as these styles prevent proper access to the scalp and pores.

I want to buy a head spa treatment as a gift?

We recommend that you buy a gift voucher and book the appointment, you are unable to pay in full for a treatment unless you have a gift voucher purchase, gift vouchers can be purchased at a custom amount, please get in touch if you have any questions click - Buy a treatment as a gift.

Can I have the treatment if I am pregnant?

Pregnant clients may be suitable for selected head spa treatments depending on their individual health condition and stage of pregnancy.

For safety reasons, we kindly ask all pregnant clients to inform us prior to booking. This treatment may be suitable if your pregnancy is considered low-risk, you have not experienced previous pregnancy complications, and you are comfortable lying in a reclined position for an extended period.

However, we do not recommend this treatment for clients with high-risk pregnancies, a history of miscarriage, medical concerns advised by their healthcare provider, or those in the later stages of pregnancy where prolonged positioning may cause discomfort.

As every pregnancy is different, we strongly advise seeking approval from your midwife, GP, or healthcare professional before attending your appointment.

Your comfort, safety, and wellbeing will always remain our top priority.

Does the treatment include a blow dry?

A light blow dry is provided after your treatment to gently dry the hair.

As the scalp and hair are freshly treated, we do not recommend a full blow-dry or heat styling immediately afterwards, as our priority is to maintain the benefits of the treatment and keep the hair in its healthiest condition.

How old do you have to be to have a treatment? 

We offer selected Kids & Teen Head Spa treatments for ages 8–16 years old ✨

Children and teens under 16 are welcome to enjoy our specially adapted treatments, designed to be gentle, relaxing and age appropriate.

Please note:
• Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over during the treatment.
• For younger children, we recommend our shorter 30 minute treatment options.
• Full adult treatments may not be suitable for younger guests due to treatment length.

Will the head spa treatment have any affect on my recent hair colour or keratin?

All of our ingredients are completely safe for all types of treated hair. However, if you have had any chemical services within a week before your Head Spa appointment, there is a possibility that the colour or keratin may lift during our detoxing process.

To ensure the best results, we recommend waiting at least a week after any hair treatment before booking a Head Spa. Likewise, we advise waiting at least a week after a Head Spa before undergoing any chemical services—you wouldn’t want to apply chemicals to a freshly cleansed scalp!

Is the treatment available for male clients? 

Absolutely! Our head spa treatments are available to everyone, regardless of gender. You can also book a session for couples and enjoy the experience together.

I wear a hijab, is the head spa private with female staff?

My Head Spa is a tranquil, private retreat staffed exclusively by women. Your own serene, personal treatment room awaits.

Can you help with specific scalp concerns?

At My Head Spa, we specialise in addressing scalp concerns with our advanced nutraceutical treatments. We use Davines products, expertly tailored to specific scalp conditions, ensuring a customised approach to scalp health and rejuvenation.

Is there anywhere to park at your location? 

Parking is limited at the property, We recommend that customers park in on School Lane (B5169) in the FREE on street parking.

I have allergies, Can I still have the treatment? 

If you have allergies, please review the ingredients in our treatments to ensure they are suitable for you. All our products are made from natural ingredients sourced from the earth, including citrus fruits, and may contain traces of nuts.

Can I take content for my social media?

Whether or not you choose to capture content for social media is entirely up to you. Our treatments are designed for relaxation and rejuvenation, but if you’d like to take photos or videos, you’re more than welcome to do so. Rest assured, no photographs or recordings will be taken without your consent.

Do you offer treatments for all hair types? 

Yes! Our treatments are suitable for all hair types. While we don’t specialise in cutting or styling curly hair, everyone is welcome to enjoy our services.

How do I pay for my treatment? 

Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment ✨

Payments can be made online during the booking process. We currently accept Card payments, and selected bookings may also be arranged via Bank Transfer.

How do I book a treatment? 

You can book a treatment by visiting the treatments page on our website or get in contact on our social media platforms

We can also book appointments via WhatsApp. You will still be required to pay a 50% deposit to confirm your booking. 

What should I wear for my appointment? 

We recommend wearing something comfortable for your treatment, such as a vest or sports top, to ensure ease and relaxation.

Can you tailor the treatment to my requirements? 

Yes, if there is anything you do not like or would prefer to avoid during the treatment, please inform your head spa technician, and they will be happy to accommodate your needs.

Do you offer any other treatments? 

No, at My Head Spa we specialise exclusively in Japanese head spa treatments. This focus allows us to excel in what we do, delivering the highest standard of care. Our expert head spa technicians have spent months perfecting this treatment and come from a hair and beauty background, ensuring a professional and refined experience.
